ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: GRADE A – C at GCSE Drama / Performing Arts
COURSE CONTENT
The qualification aims to:
. Develop confident and independent interpreters.
. Explore theatrical concepts through practical and analytical exploration of dramatic styles and theatrical methods.
. Acquire practical theatre skills such as design skills and / or performance skills in a variety of theatrical styles.
Unit 1 – Devised Drama – Practical
Unit 2 – Approaches to text - Written
If successful at AS Level students can continue to study A2.
Unit 3 – Play in production
Unit 4 – Text in performance
Drama requires highly motivated students who are willing to dedicate a great deal of personal study time, sometimes outside of the school timetable
